Nestled in the heart of East Passyunk, Ember & Ash is dedicated to celebrating the vibrant flavors of each season. We proudly showcase local ingredients, cooked over our custom-built wood hearth, offering a unique dining experience that resonates with our community.

Scott Calhoun, our owner and Executive Chef, has crafted his culinary journey with passion and dedication. He started in a local sandwich shop in Lancaster, PA, and never looked back. At 23, Scott attended The Culinary Institute of America and honed his skills at Jean Georges in NYC. He then made his way to Philadelphia, where he worked alongside renowned chefs Marc Vetri and Jeff Michaud at Osteria.

Scott continued his journey, leading the kitchen at Lo Spiedo and later taking on the role of Chef De Cuisine at Stephen Starr’s Parc on Rittenhouse Square. His extensive experience, spanning over 19 years, has shaped him into the creative chef he is today.
